Which trusted third parties does QuillBot share my personal information with?
We only work with trusted third-party service providers that help us give you the best experience possible. Our team has thoroughly reviewed their privacy and security practices to ensure the third parties we work with meet our privacy and security standards. We have contractual agreements with all of our service providers that restrict how they may process personal data on our behalf. Additionally, it is QuillBot’s standard policy to not allow any third-party service provider to use your data to train their AI models.
Examples of third parties we work with include (but are not limited to) security and fraud prevention service providers or payment processors (such as PayPal). How does QuillBot protect and retain my personal data?
At QuillBot, we have strong infrastructure in place to protect your data and privacy, and we’re dedicated to keeping your data secure. Our connections are encrypted, and we work with cybersecurity service providers to help us keep your data safe. Additionally, we do not and will not sell your data.
Does QuillBot have measures in place to prevent access to my sensitive information?
QuillBot does not access text in sensitive data fields, such as passwords or credit card numbers, and we only collect inputs when you’re actively using our service. Additionally, access to customer data is tightly restricted within our company and our service providers. We work to prevent unauthorized individuals from accessing any of your data, and our employees can only do so when it’s necessary to their work. When we perform product research to improve our services, we remove any directly identifying personal data.
Does QuillBot sell my content?
No, we do not sell your content. Your writing belongs to you, and when you use QuillBot, you retain all rights to your text. We also do not sell your data.
If you transfer data outside the EU, what safeguards do you have in place to ensure their protection?
QuillBot has offices in the United States and India, and we work with service providers throughout the world. This means that we may transfer personal data from the EU when doing so is necessary to provide our services. When we do, we take appropriate measures to safeguard their transfer, including implementing industry-standard security practices, being certified, complying with the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks (“DPF”) and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and using data protection agreements with Standard Contractual Clauses.
