Who uses QuillBot or Grammarly?
Millions of people use tools like QuillBot and Grammarly to refine their writing and increase their productivity. Below, we’ll get into some specific use cases.
AI content generation
If you’re struggling with writer’s block or can’t seem to organize your thoughts, both tools can create an outline, complete your sentence or paragraph, suggest the next sentence, and more based on what you’ve already written.
But QuillBot allows its writers to use this feature more extensively. Grammarly limits free accounts to 100 prompts per month, and Premium accounts to 1,000 prompts per month. Meanwhile, QuillBot allows free accounts 50 prompts per day (totaling about 1,500 a month!), while Premium accounts get unlimited access to this feature. As you can see, even QuillBot’s free plan offers more generative AI access than Grammarly’s paid plan.
Academic writing
Both QuillBot and Grammarly are helpful for students and educators alike. They are both excellent at making text more concise and formal, checking for plagiarism, and citing sources. But QuillBot also offers a more robust Citation Generator, which allows you to create, save, and organize entire bibliographies.
Business writing
Grammarly is used for creating content that is inclusive, on-brand, and able to connect with the target audience. But for professionals looking to optimize their writing for SEO, QuillBot may be a better choice. Here, QuillBot’s Freeze Words tool comes in handy. It lets you specify words that you don’t want to be changed, such as keywords.
Both QuillBot and Grammarly offer group plans for businesses. For example, QuillBot’s Team Plan comes with a team dictionary and team style guide to streamline collaborative workflows and improve consistency across content creators.
Longform writing
Authors of longer pieces, such as books and white papers, can benefit greatly from both tools’ error-correcting, wordsmithing, and AI generation features.
Language learning
Multilingual writers can find value in QuillBot’s Fluency mode, which is free in Paraphraser. While Grammarly does offer fluency suggestions, they are available to Premium users only.
QuillBot also offers translation capabilities, and allows writers to view translations side-by-side with their original text. Additionally, QuillBot offers multilingual options in many of their tools.
On the other hand, Grammarly focuses primarily on English and lacks the same multilingual capabilities. However, they do have one advantage in that they offer the additional option of Indian English, while QuillBot only has American, British, Canadian, and Australian English.
Which is better, QuillBot or Grammarly?
While both QuillBot and Grammarly offer quality recommendations and a wide array of products to assist in any writing task, we believe QuillBot is the better choice. With QuillBot, you can access most features for free and can try them out without signing in. And QuillBot’s Premium plan is less expensive than Grammarly’s.
Additionally, QuillBot’s multilingual support means you can have support for your writing in your second (or third or fourth) language.
