Do you put a comma before even though?
You do not put a comma before “even though.” For example:
- She went for a walk even though the weather was bad.
- Even though the weather was bad, she went for a walk.
However, if “even though” comes at the beginning of the sentence, you have to put a comma after the dependent clause it introduces, like in the example above.
Some synonyms for even though, like “although,” can have a comma before them when they come in the middle of a sentence. Use QuillBot’s free Grammar Checker to make sure you always use commas correctly.
