What is the difference between a parody and a pastiche?
A parody imitates a person, work, or style mainly to create humor and/or criticism. This is done by exaggerating recognizable features.
A pastiche also imitates an existing style or work, but it does not necessarily mock or criticize its source. Its purpose is typically to pay tribute or rework it in a new context.
The two can overlap, so a pastiche can also contain elements of parody.
