Most Spanish adjectives change their endings to agree with the gender of the nouns they modify. Masculine adjectives usually end in “o” (e.g., “urbano“), while feminine adjectives generally end in “a” (e.g., “urbana“). Some adjectives don’t change (e.g., “útil”).

Also, most proper adjectives in Spanish are not capitalized like in English. For example, “un investigador ucraniano” uses a lowercase U, while its English translation (“the Ukrainian researched”) requires a capital U.
