Spanish adjectives usually change endings to agree with the gender of the nouns they describe. Masculine adjectives generally end in “o” (e.g., “pequeño“), while feminine adjectives typically end in “a” (e.g., “pequeña“). Some adjectives don’t change (e.g., “puntual”).

Moreover, most proper adjectives are not capitalized in Spanish like in English. For example, “el chico portugués” gets a lowercase P, while its English translation (“the Portuguese guy”) gets an uppercase P.
